The Ministry of Rural Development and Food promotes the development of Rural Tourism in mountain-deprived areas which have the infrastructure and the potential for tourism development, providing financial support to farmers for agro-tourism and agro industrial activities.
In Rural’s Tourism activities are included: harvesting and other activities of olive tree, use of olive products (olives, olive oil) in cooking and baking, guided tours in traditional olive mills.
Rural tourism can be a mean of promoting Environmentally -Friendly Management Systems, as well as an additional income for producers.
